Renny started out sweeping floors at the local Honda store back in 1999. After completing his motorcycle engineering trade certificate in 2006 he went on to work with Daryl Hurley as his mechanic for the last 4 seasons of his professional career.

An avid rider and racer Renny has the experience to help enhance your riding, whether it be a custom suspension set up or recommendations on accessories you can be sure Renny will point you in the right direction.

Hannah was introduced to Motocross in the late 90’s where she was dragged all over the country supporting her brothers racing. Becoming a part of the Moto family led into a co-ordinator role with Motorcycling New Zealand and the New Zealand Senior Motocross Championship.

Hannah has a degree in marketing and public relations and after working in various other industry positions she now balances raising her and Renny’s two young children with marketing and administration at Johnston’s.

Gareth’s the lead technician in our workshop, he holds his trade certificate in motorcycle engineering. In addition he’s recently completed his gold level KTM training in Sydney.

Gareth races motocross and cross country – his equipment’s always meticulously maintained and presented and this is the exact treatment he will give your bike in our workshop.

Cam officially joined the team in February 2022 as Trainee Technician. An Inglewood local who initially spent some time with us via the local high school gateway programme, Cam is now well on his way to completing his motorcycle engineering apprenticeship.

Cam is also a solid MX rider, winning the 2024 MX3 title at NZ MX Nationals.

Ian or 'Acky' as most know him needs little introduction. Having been in the motorcycle industry the majority of his life, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.

Acky is primarily in sales but can assist with all aspects of the business so you’ll often find him behind the parts counter or helping the service team.

Brett brings 30 years of parts, accessories and sales experience to the store. As a fully qualified motorcycle mechanic he can answer all your questions and source those hard to find parts.

Brett is an avid motorcycle rider and is also heavily involved, along with his kids, in BMX racing.

Nerissa came to Johnston’s in February 2022 having some previous experience in motorcycle parts.

Since joining us Nerissa has completed her parts apprenticeship and continues to build her parts and product knowledge.
